Michigan Youth Trombone Ensemble

Up to date as of 03/1/21 for 2021-2022 season
The Michigan Youth Trombone Ensemble (MYTE), under the direction of Professor David Jackson, provides students advanced experience in performing a variety of trombone ensemble repertoire. Students will work with current U-M graduate and undergraduate trombone students of Prof. David Jackson to strengthen their overall musicianship, learn new repertoire, and participate in collaborative music making through weekly rehearsals.

We are currently planning on holding MYTE rehearsals in person for the Fall 2021 Semester. In the event that conditions do not allow us to host rehearsals safely in person, we are also planning a robust online MYTE experience that will build upon what was offered during the 2020-2021 season.

The Michigan Youth Trombone Ensembleis open to high-school aged trombonists, and is recommended for students who are generally in upper high school grades with two to four years of musical experience.

U-M Faculty Director: Professor David Jackson

Rehearsal Time: Sundays, 7:00 – 8:30 PM
Rehearsal Location: Stearns Building, Cady Room (UM North Campus, 2005 Baits Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48109)
