Jeffrey Kuras

Director of University Productions and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Theatre

Jeffrey Kuras is director of University Productions. As director of the school’s producing unit, he has put together over 150 productions in dance, theatre, opera, and musical theatre, both professional and university, since joining the School of Music, Theatre & Dance faculty in 1985. His office has managed Hill Auditorium, Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre, Power Center for the Performing Arts, Rackham Auditorium, and Trueblood Theatre since 1987. Kuras’ experience includes balancing the budget for 14 years.

Prior to joining the Michigan faculty, Professor Kuras held administrative positions at Virginia Opera and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. The recipient of an Apprenticeship in Opera Administration from the National Institute of Musical Theatre, Kuras was selected to fill the single summer internship at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc.

Kuras teaches courses in arts administration.
