The SMTD Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Advisory Board (DEI SAB) will ensure student engagement in and provide student feedback on the implementation and assessment of SMTD’s DEI Strategic Plan. The DEI SAB provides student voice and perspective on topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the SMTD experience to the DEI staff and other leaders within the school. The DEI SAB also provides recommendations to help to influence SMTD goals, services, and overall effectiveness. Additionally, members also engage in dialogue on how their social identities and experiences shape their meaning making and ethical decision-making within the context of student engagement on DEI-related issues.


The DEI Student Ambassadors Program empowers a diverse group of current SMTD students who serve to strengthen our community by engaging with and
learning from leaders in society and each other.

Our student ambassadors are not only diverse in their age, gender, race, and sexual orientation; but also in religious affiliation, political views, and experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work.

Ambassadors are encouraged to create their own projects with support from the DEI Office!

The SMTD Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty and Staff Action Teams (DEI FSAT) will ensure faculty and staff engagement in and provide feedback on the implementation and assessment of SMTD’s DEI Strategic Plan. The DEI FSATs provide faculty and staff voice and perspective on topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the SMTD experience to SMTD leadership including the Dean of SMTD. The DEI FSATs also provide recommendations to help to influence SMTD goals, services, and overall effectiveness. Additionally, the DEI FSATs work with the SMTD DEI Student Advisory Board on key issues that impact students.
