Alumna Hannah Baiardi gives us an in-depth look at her new album

On March 22, alumna Hannah Baiardi (BFA ’18, jazz studies) released her new album Straight from the Soul. This is her second studio album after the release of her debut EP The Quietest Place. While at SMTD, Baiardi studied with Professor. Ellen Rowe, the late Geri Allen, and former faculty member Benny Green. 

To take us behind the scenes of releasing a new album, Baiardi broke down several tracks on her new album, giving insight into her process, and how the album came about. Straight from the Soul features SMTD faculty members, Marion Hayden and Bill Lucas, along with several SMTD alumni including Ryan King (BM ’14, clarinet), David Magumba, Jesus Sanchez (BFA ’19, jazz studies and acting), and Anthony Wyatt (MM ’20, improvisation, BM ’16, saxophone, BFA ’16, jazz studies).
