Renowned Trinidian drummer Gerion Williams presents a clinic discussing his career as a self-taught international performer, his experience playing Soca music with top Caribbean recording artists and steel bands, and the role of a drumset player in Caribbean Soca music.

GERION WILLIAMS is recognized as one of the most prolific and sought-after drummers in Trinidad and Tobago and regularly plays both throughout the Caribbean and United States. He performs with legendary steel bands such as the Shell Invaders Steel Orchestra and Pan Elders Steel Orchestra, and performs both live and as a recording artist for the biggest names in Soca, including Voice The Artiste, Kes, Machel Montano, and more. Gerion is a brand ambassador for Trinbagonian-made KAW Drums.

This guest artist clinic has been made possible thanks to the Center for World Performance Studies, the Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives, and contribution from the SMTD Department of Jazz & Contemporary Improvisation. The clinic is free and open to the public.
