This lecture begins at 7:15pm before the 8:00pm Symphony Band performance. In his first official concert as the new Director of Bands, conductor Jason Fettig leads a program of both new and old classics for winds that each represent something colorfully emblematic.

Highlights of the program include the consorium premiere of the wind version of Adam Schoenberg’s Cool Cat co-commissioned by the University of Michigan and “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, and a consortium premiere of U-M alum Joel Puckett’s Southern Comforts featuring SMTD faculty member, violinist Matt Albert.
