Dance Students to Perform in Upcoming Senior Concerts
The Department of Dance will present two concerts in April featuring students pursuing the bachelor of fine arts (BFA) in Dance. The senior concert is an important requirement of the BFA dance degree, giving each student valuable experience with the multiple components that go into producing a show. Two groups of seniors will each perform their full programs, titled “heartstrings” and “Without Saying,” on three dates as they prepare to graduate this term.

SMTD Announces Winners of 2023 Concerto Competition
Recently, SMTD held its annual Concerto Competition, with undergraduate students competing on January 4 and graduate students on January 5. The undergraduate winners are Ben Deighton (BM ’24, cello) and Nathan Landers (BM ’24, clarinet). The graduate winners are James Koo (MM ’24, percussion) and Nhi Luong (DMA ’24, piano). Each of the winners will perform their competition piece with one of the school’s orchestras in a future concert at Hill Auditorium.
