Michigan Success Through Artistry and Readiness (M-STARS) is a dynamic and inclusive educational program that nurtures a college-going culture among young artists. M-STARS programs illuminate pre-college pathways through offering rich learning opportunities that include artistic skill-building, immersive cultural experiences, and meaningful connections to college life. Our students benefit from mentorship and tutoring led by passionate faculty and talented undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance.

With continuous threats against maintaining arts education, it is in the best interest of urban school districts to preserve arts programs and working to create a pipeline to colleges and universities is an excellent means of educating administrators, counselors, parents and students about necessary steps to careers in the arts. Students need to know that they can pursue their dreams of an arts education and career but to do so, they require help. A pipeline will provide necessary structures whereby students can receive training/lessons, information and access to pre-college programs, information on how to audition, applying for financial aid and other guidance.
