Sylvie & The Rain Tree: Black Poetry, Music, and the Haitian Kont

Join us for a lecture recital by Kuwento Mizik – baritone Jean Bernard Cerin and pianist Veena Kulkarni-Rankin – featuring their original musical folk tale, Sylvie & The Rain Tree alongside music by African American composers and lyrics by Black poets.

Presented as part of the Collaborative Piano Institute – a premier summer program co-founded by SMTD faculty members Elena Lacheva and Ana María Otamendi.
