Bio

Mr. Matt Bogart is an interdisciplinary artist (producer, director, writer, singer, actor, and educator), a distinguished alumnus of the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, and is currently attaining his MA from the Berklee School of Music. He has starred as an actor on Broadway and other theatre, including Jersey Boys (also filmed, starring Nick Jonas), Aida, Miss Saigon, Smokey Joe’s Café (also filmed, live-capture), Paradise Square, The Civil War, as James Joyce in Himself and Nora Off-Broadway (also a producer), Jane Eyre (live-capture with Julie Benko, also a producer & associate director), and appearances for Stephen Sondheim at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center. TV & Film appearances include HBO’s Vinyl as Robert Goulet (Director, Martin Scorsese), The Good Fight, Smash, Law & Order, L&O: SVU, feature films Mistake (Best Feature Film Festival Awards), and Stargazer (Producer & Best Actor Film Festival Awards). As a co-producer and recording artist for the Jay Records label, he has recorded a series of solo theatre records at Abbey Road Studios and in NYC (all on iTunes). Locally, Mr. Bogart has been a featured soloist with the Ann Arbor Symphony, performed in Jeff Daniels’ play, Norma & Wanda at The Purple Rose Theatre, and has directed and starred in several productions at The Encore Theatre in Dexter, MI, including Rent, The Music of Frankie Valli, Sense and Sensibility, and Come From Away. He lives in the Ann Arbor area with his wife, Jessica Boevers Bogart, an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, SMTD, University of Michigan, and their two teenage boys.
