Bio

Jenna Gerdsen is a theatre historian and dramaturg. Her research is situated in the confluence of Theatre studies, Asian American and Indigenous studies. Her teaching and research areas include theatre history and historiography, Interculturalism, Critical Race Theory and Asian American and Pacific Islander theatre. While earning her PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from University of Maryland College Park, she was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award. She has presented her scholarship at conferences such as the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, American Society for Theatre Research, Performance Studies International, Comparative Drama Conference and Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association. Her work has been published in Theatre Journal, Theatre Topics and HowlRound.
