Bio
Professor Jenn Rae Moore joined the SMTD faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Theatre & Drama in winter 2025. Moore is an Equity Production Stage Manager with a robust career working extensively both on and off Broadway.
Jenn Rae is currently the PSM for McNEAL on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, a new play by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Bartlett Sher & starring Robert Downey Jr. which explores how artificial intelligence affects literature and where art and information originates. Her recent work also includes ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME on Broadway, directed & choreographed by Keone & Mari Madrid and JONAH off-Broadway, a new play by Rachel Bonds, directed by Danya Taymor.
Moore has been lucky enough to call Lincoln Center Theater, under the leadership of André Bishop, her artistic home. She led 12 full productions on the Vivian Beaumont and the Mitzi Newhouse stages as well as countless works in development. LCT introduced her to Bartlett Sher with whom she has enjoyed a meaningful partnership, working to bring his productions and vision to life. Among their collaborations is the revival of Lerner and Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY which Moore actualized on Broadway as well as served as Associate Director on the 1st National US Tour, West End production, and UK & Ireland Tour.
Past credits include12 Broadway shows among them The Tony Award winning The King and I, Bridges of Madison County, and The Coast of Utopia. Other credits include off-Broadway productions at The Public, Roundabout Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, The Vineyard, Theatre for a New Audience, Manhattan Theatre Club, Primary Stages, New York Theatre Workshop as well as many projects in development, national and international tours, galas, and benefit performances.
Moore was the Resident Production Stage Manager at The Chautauqua Theater Company for 13 seasons, where she both stage managed, and served as a member of the senior leadership team. Here she was able to build a cohesive production team to ensure a collaborative environment incorporating both professional and apprentice work and guide young stage managers through the immediate problem-solving of production, while also helping them to look forward.
Outside the realm of theatre Jenn Rae has project managed a variety of high-profile, large-scale fashion shows, parties, award shows, and related events.
As an educator Jenn Rae served as Adjunct Professor of Theatre at The Juilliard School and Adjunct Professor of Stage Management at Adelphi University as well as Guest Lecturer at The Yale School of Drama, Columbia University, Rutgers University, Bucknell University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Auburn University, Western Kentucky University, and Northern Vermont University. She has spent many years mentoring student and early-career stage managers, fostering connections with employers, guiding them through the hands-on process and serving as a sounding board for questions and concerns.
Moore was awarded the Joan and Joseph F. Cullman Award for Extraordinary Creativity at Lincoln Center Theater and was featured in Playbill as one of 10 Powerhouse Female Creators. She is included in the stage management exhibit in the Museum of Broadway in NYC.
Hailing originally from Traverse City, Michigan, Moore received her BA from Kalamazoo College with a concentration in Stage Management from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA), the union for professional actors and stage managers.
