Adolphus Hailstork visits the Contemporary Directions Ensemble as a guest composer, featuring his work Monuments. The piece is dedicated to U-M Professor of Trombone David Jackson, who will be featured as the soloist in this powerful work. The program also includes Takemitsu’s warm and impressionistic And Then I Knew ‘Twas Wind and the chamber version of Mahler’s heavenly Symphony #4, featuring renowned soprano soloist (and U-M Assistant Professor of Voice) Caitlin Lynch.
