Briggs Chamber Music Competition

The Briggs Competition was created to encourage the excellence of chamber music performance at SMTD and to provide performance opportunities for small ensembles. It is named in honor of its benefactors and evolved from the Dale and Nancy Briggs Chamber Music Endowed Enrichment Fund, established in 2004 and endowed in 2006, to support program and/or scholarship needs in chamber music. Groups will perform mini-recitals of 25 minutes, showcasing the breadth of their work throughout the year. Prizes are given to the top three groups, plus honorable mentions and a Michigan Prize for the best performance of a piece written by a Michigan composer. There will be a reception and winners’ announcement after the final performances. Start Time is tentative. Please check back for exact timing closer to the event.
