Stephen Michael Newby (DMA ’94, composition) is the inaugural Lev H. Prichard III Endowed Chair in the Study of Black Worship, Professor of Music and ambassador for the Black Gospel Music Preservation Program at Baylor University. He is co-author of Soon and Very Soon: The Transformative Music and Ministry of Andrae Crouch, to be published in 2025.
