Stephen Caplan (MM ’82, DMA ’92, oboe) has retired from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, after thirty-eight years on the faculty, and he has been designated emeritus professor of music. He will continue performing as principal oboe of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, where he also serves as chair of the Orchestra Committee and recently negotiated a new three-year contract. (Fall 2025)
