The American Five, the debut play written by Chess Jakobs (BFA ’18, theatre & drama), premiered at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC, on September 19, 2025, directed by Aaron Posner. The play received a workshop at U-M in winter 2025 and was awarded the Ford’s Theatre Legacy Commission in January 2024.
