Composer and guitarist D.J. Sparr (MM ’99, DMA ’03, composition) served as the artistic coordinator of the Memphis Composers Institute. As part of the institute, his viola concerto, Extended Play, premiered February 9, 2025, featuring Kimberly Sparr with the Memphis Symphony.
