Bio

Dr. Bogum Park is an accomplished collaborative pianist and educator with extensive international experience. A graduate of Sunhwa Arts School and Yonsei University in Korea, she earned her first Master of Music in Piano Performance from The University of Texas at Austin, followed by a second Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Collaborative Piano, where she also served as a Teaching Assistant. She later completed a Professional Studies Certificate in Collaborative Piano at the Manhattan School of Music.

Dr. Park has earned honors in national and international competitions, including First Prize at the Sid Wright Piano Accompanying Competition at UT Austin, Gold Prize at the Stefan Müller Piano Competition, Third Prize at the Osaka International Competition in Japan, and additional awards at the J&R National Music Competition, Hanum Music Competition, Hyupsung University National Music Competition, and Yejin Music Competition in Korea.

Her international engagements include participation in and performances at the Académie Musicale de Fontenay-le-Comte in France and L’Accademia di Musica di Taggia in Italy. She has performed as a soloist in collaboration with the Bulgarian National Symphony Orchestra. Her recital appearances include performances in curated series such as the Schumann Series at Iwon Cultural Center, the Chopin Series at KAG Art Hall, the Liszt Series at Banpo Art Hall M, and the Debussy Series at Yeoncheon Herb Village. She has also performed as a member of the Yonsei University Symphony Wind Orchestra and the Austin Harmony Youth Chamber Orchestra, in addition to numerous performances in solo, collaborative, and chamber music settings.

She has served as a Collaborative Pianist and Adjunct Faculty member at institutions including the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College, Winston-Salem State University, Wake Forest University, UNC Greensboro, UNC Chapel-Hill, Stanford University, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College, and iSing Silicon Valley Choir. Her recent recordings include Heil VI, VII, and X by composer Sunhee Cho (with VI and X being world premieres), recorded in collaboration with her sister, violinist Dr. Hoigum Park.

With over 15 years of private teaching experience, Dr. Park is deeply committed to mentoring students and fostering artistic collaboration. Since 2024, she has served as Staff Collaborative Pianist for Strings at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance in Ann Arbor.
