Alexander Cannon (MA ’07, PhD ’11, musicology), associate professor of music at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, was named the winner of the 2023 Royal Musical Association/ Cambridge University Press Outstanding Monograph Book Prize for his Seeding the Tradition: Musical Creativity in Southern Vietnam (Wesleyan University Press, 2022).
