Godfrey Lubuulwa (MM ’23, music education, improvisation) is a PhD candidate in jazz studies at the University of Pittsburgh. His doctoral research examines how Ugandan musicians engage indigenous musical traditions and global genres to articulate cultural identity and negotiate postcolonial realities. (Spring 2026)
