David Biedenbender (MM ’09, DMA ’13, composition) received the 2025 Barlow Prize from the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition at Brigham Young University. He will compose a major new work for wind symphony, to be premiered by a consortium of performers including the U-M Symphony Band. Biedenbender is chair of composition at Michigan State University.
