John Mortensen (BMA ’88, piano) performed an improvised concert at the ImproVision Festival in Hannover, Germany, in November 2025. Mortensen improvised an overture, a prelude and fugue, a set of variations, and several impromptus in 19th-century Romantic style. He currently serves on the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music.
