Our ticketed performance season includes nine fully staged productions, one studio production, and four major ensemble concerts, including the highly anticipated annual Collage Concert in January.

These performances, on par with professional productions, showcase our exceptional students and renowned faculty. Best of all, the revenue generated by ticket sales directly supports future educational performance opportunities for all of our students.

Buy More, Buy Early – and Save!

Want to attend four or more different performances this year? With the SMTD Flex Series, you can get first access to the best seats, reduced ticket fees, and a 10% discount on your tickets (or $10 per ticket with the SMTD Student Flex Series). Simply add four or more qualifying performances* to your cart beginning June 2 (renewals begin on May 12).

Important Dates

  • Early access for ticket package renewals begins May 12, 2026.
  • Flex Series (and Student Flex Series) ticket packages go on sale June 2, 2026. Package sales will end January 23, 2027.
  • Group sales (10 or more) begin July 21.
  • Single ticket sales to the general public begin Thursday, July 30.

Groups

We love groups! Groups of 10 or more attending a single performance receive a discount: 20% off the ticket price (or, for groups of students, a price of $11 per ticket). We also waive our fees!

The Ticketed Performances

Ticket prices vary by production and venue. Please see the performance listing for more information. Some performances may have additional bulk purchase discounts; these will be listed under the performance information. For transparency, all prices listed include the box office ticket fee for purchasing online or over the phone; tickets purchased in person at the box office will have this fee waived. Tickets purchased as part of a Flex Series package have a single $8 flat fee for the entire order.

*Flex Series Exceptions: The SeAH Korean Art Song Gala, Men’s and Women’s Glee Club concerts, and the Musical Theatre Showcase are not eligible for the Flex Series discount. They can be purchased for full price in the same order where you purchase four qualifying performances.

The SeAH Korean Art Song Gala marks the first time that Korean song performance has been taught at U-M and is generously supported by the SeAH corporation and numerous campus entities: the Arts Initiative, the Jessye Norman Fund, the School of Music, Theatre & Dance, the Nam Center for Korean Studies, and the Office of the President. Concert proceeds will be used to support future Korean Performing Arts Initiative events.

Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar, and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

La Rondine is a bittersweet comedy from one of the best-loved composers of Italian opera. The story follows the love life of courtesan Magda, who flies away from her wealthy, pampered life with the unromantic Rombaldo in favor of a passionate affair with the younger (and poorer) Ruggero – disguising her identity as she does so. When two visitors from her past appear, Magda must wrestle with the question of who she truly is and what she wants.
