Description: Sometimes called a Sanctus Bell, this medieval-era bell likely comes from Germany. It has intricate cast vinestem decoration, symbols, and names of the four evangelists: MATHEUS, JOHANNES, LUCAS, MARCUS. Small bells such as this one were hung in medieval churches and were rung at three important points during the Catholic Mass.
