Bio

Jeffrey Kuras is director of University Productions, the School of Music, Theatre & Dance’s producing unit. In this role he has put together over 150 productions in dance, theatre, opera, and musical theatre, both professional and university, since joining the SMTD faculty in 1985. His office manages Hill Auditorium, Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre, Power Center for the Performing Arts, Rackham Auditorium, and Arthur Miller Theatre. Kuras’ experience also includes balancing the budget for 14 years.

Prior to joining the Michigan faculty, Kuras held administrative positions at Virginia Opera and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. The recipient of an Apprenticeship in Opera Administration from the National Institute of Musical Theatre, Kuras was selected to fill the single summer internship at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Kuras teaches courses in arts administration.
