Bio

Daniel Cantor is Associate Professor of acting and directing and head of the BFA Acting program at University of Michigan. He has also taught at Northwestern University, Pace University, Wesleyan University, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, as well as in his own private studio.

Acting: Broadway — original cast of LEOPOLDSTADT (Tony Award best play). Off-Broadway — THINGS YOU SHOULDN’T SAY PAST MIDNIGHT (Promenade Theater), TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE (Minetta Lane Theatre) and STRICTLY PERSONAL (SoHo Playhouse). Pablo Picasso in the original production of PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE. Chicago — Goodman, Court, Victory Gardens, Drury Lane, Chicago Shakespeare, Silk Road Rising, Next, and American Theater Company. Directing: NYC — ROCK MEDEA, his original rock n roll adaptation of MEDEA at the Public Theatre’s cabaret space Joe’s Pub, Westbeth Theater Center, PSNBC, SoloArts, StandUpNY, the National Historic Theater. Outreach project — PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN for the Roundabout Theater. Chicago — UV Theater Project (a company he founded). Associate Director – Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Marriott Theater. University – Wesleyan University, Northwestern University, University of Michigan.
