Bio
Originally from North Texas, Corrie Bird graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Music with K-12 education certification. During their time at SFASU, Bird built their private lesson studio and gained comprehensive experience in marching arts instruction. Prior to joining SMTD, Bird was an Assistant Band Director at Cedar Park Middle School in Leander ISD where she designed and implemented a well-rounded curriculum for young musicians.
Bird’s hobbies include hiking, playing horn, reading, and spending time with her pets Bruiser, Greg, and Rockie.
As a life-long musician and passionate advocate for the arts, Bird is thrilled to join SMTD and draw on her administrative and education experiences to serve aspiring artists.
