Bio
Eli Salembier started in his role at SMTD in August of 2020. He manages budgeting, reporting, and forecasting and oversees the finance team, facilities, IT, Concerts & Events, University Productions, Piano Technology, Walgreen Operations, and Engagement & Outreach.
Eli comes to SMTD from NSF International, a global health and safety non-profit, where he spent the last fifteen years in various roles in the accounting and finance department. Most recently Eli was the Senior Director of Finance overseeing global finance functions, accounting systems, and North American payroll.
Eli’s accomplishments at NSF included implementing financial systems and processes that accommodated a rapidly growing organization, building a finance department that partnered with management to drive NSF’s strategy across the organization, and championing a positive work culture. While working at NSF Eli obtained his MBA from the Ross School of Business.
For several years Eli has been involved with the Center for Positive Organizations at the Ross School and has been a representative on their Positive Organizations Consortium. He has presented on financial systems and processes at national conferences for Host Analytics, Oracle, and others. Eli also served as the founding CFO for Genomenon, a bio-tech startup in Ann Arbor.
Before moving to Ann Arbor, Eli worked at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Eli has a degree in Music Education from Lawrence University where he studied bassoon and studied at the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon.
