Marketing & Communications Support for Students

The Marketing & Communications team can support SMTD students in a number of ways. We are here to help share the news of your accomplishments, to amplify your voices, and to offer our marketing and communications expertise.

Posters & Promotion

  • The SMTD Marketing & Communications team is responsible for the promotion of large ensemble concerts, ticketed performances, and University Productions performances. While we can’t provide graphic design or promotional support for recitals or other events and performances,  a suite of branded poster templates are available in a number of formats (Canva, Google, Microsoft) for your use.
  • We can also post your promotional posters to digital signs. SMTD manages digital signs in the Moore, Walgreen, and Dance buildings. There is also an extensive network of digital signage across campus to which we can submit posters and flyers. To have a poster added to these signs, email the file to [email protected]. (Please allow at least 1 business day for posting.)
    • Files must be .jpg or .png format (.pdf is not supported), no larger than 72dpi, and should fit the following dimensions:
Moore, Walgreen, and portrait-oriented campus signs: 3840×2160 px
Dance and landscape-oriented campus signs: 2160×3840 px

Social Media

  • Follow and tag us on Instagram and Linkedin: @umichsmtd
  • Share your content with your community and tag SMTD for amplification.
  • Take over SMTD’s social media! During the year, we invite SMTD students to takeover our Instagram feed to showcase a day-in-the-life or highlight an interesting event to our wider social media following. If you would like to volunteer to do an Instagram takeover, please complete this interest form and our team will get in touch with you to schedule your takeover

Muse Magazine

  • Our office publishes Michigan Muse magazine twice a year, one print and one digital issue. SMTD’s alumni magazine reaches roughly 17,000 readers and shares news from around the school, feature stories, and extensive community updates from faculty, students, and alumni.
  • Share your accomplishments for each issue’s Community Updates section via this form.
(Please note, the form will close for several weeks prior to each issue’s release while the magazine is in production.)
