The School of Music, Theatre & Dance (SMTD) offers daily visits to prospective students and their families. Our visits include a guided tour of our facilities offering a glimpse of student life as well as insights into the day-to-day workings of the School and an information session providing information about the programs offered by the School, the application process, and life as an SMTD student. A typical visit will last approximately 2 hours.
The University of Michigan offers a wide array of programs and activities. In addition to learning about the SMTD, many prospective students take general tours of the University and schedule special meetings with departmental faculty. See the Additional Opportunities page for a list of other offerings that would enhance a visit to the SMTD.
Should you have plans to travel to campus when a SMTD visit is not being offered, we invite you to come to the Admissions Office and pick up an information packet, which you may find useful on a self-guided tour.
