Music in 12 Parts by Philip Glass
- Sunday December 5 5:00pm – 10:30pm
Music in 12 Parts by Philip Glass is rarely (if ever) performed in it’s entirety because of its duration and its difficulty. The composition is 4 hours long, and will include “breaks” along the way, including a long dinner break. It is child-friendly, but earplugs are encouraged.
The music is one of the true epics of “minimalism,” and will be performed on “period instruments” reconstructed for this performance.
Music in 12 Parts is one of the foundation works of minimalist repertory, and widely known for it’s uses accompanying computer programmers and editors - it’s “trance music.”
