Kristin Hanson


Youth and Adult Programs Registrar


Kristin Hanson (she/her) is an arts administrator and dance artist from Croswell, Michigan. She graduated with a BFA in Dance, a minor in History of Art, and a minor in Performing Arts Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance with highest honors as an eight term Angell Scholar. During her sophomore and senior years at SMTD, Kristin had the opportunity to work as an Education and Community Engagement student staff member with University Musical Society. In this, Kristin found her passion of connecting people with the performing arts in meaningful ways. She was also lucky enough to be selected as a UMS 21st Century Artist Intern for 2020-2021. In the summer of 2021, Kristin also worked with the Dallas Museum of Art as an intern for Community Engagement. Before her hire as Youth and Adult Program Registrar, Kristin worked with the Office of Engagement and Outreach as their Summer Office Manager.
As a dancer, Kristin has performed in dance works by Shannon Gillen, Kelly Hirina, Robin Wilson, and many more. She studied abroad in Seville, Spain with Marcat Dance and interned with Danceworks Chicago. Her own personal interests in dance currently involve contemporary floorwork, improvisation, and dance theatre. Before college, Kristin trained at the Dance Company Conservatory in Port Huron, MI while attending various dance intensives throughout southeast Michigan.
