Bio
Glenn Bering began playing the bass at 13 and eventually earned degrees in classical double bass from Eastern Michigan University and a Masters Degree from the University of Michigan in Music Composition.
While at U-M he performed in the Javanese and Japanese music ensembles. Outside the university he performed as a bassist and percussionist with musicians from a variety of cultures, including Arabic, Irish, Russian and North Indian.
Additional musical endeavors include community orchestras as a double bassist, as well as performing in groups specializing in swing, jazz, bluegrass and flamenco.
Glenn has provided percussion accompaniment as well as ambient piano improvisation for the U-M Department of Dance since 1995 as well as professional photography for dance performances.
