Originally from Taiwan, Edith Lin joined the Department of Dance in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance as a dance musician in 2005. She has played and lectured for the Paul Taylor Dance Company, Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre Summer intensive workshop programs, and MPulse summer program. Edith’s research paper Musicality in Communication and its Collaborative Relationship in Dance had been selected to present in 2012 at the National Dance Education Organization Conference. Edith has played for master classes with Suzanne Farrell Ballet Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and American College Dance Festival in Ogden, Utah.
Edith earned her undergraduate degree and Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance at the University of Northern Colorado. She also received further training at Canada’s National Ballet school for the Musician’s Mentoring Program in 1992 and 2009. In her past, she worked as a music teacher in Taiwan and a sound engineer for the non-profit Chiristian publishing company, Living Stream Ministry, in Anaheim, California. She has enjoyed playing and improvising for dance for over 25 years.
