Alumni Notes
Steven Ball (BM ’00, MM ’03, and DMA ’08, organ) worked with former Engineering Dean Dave Munson to coordinate the restoration of his 1927 Barton Opus pipe organ and its forthcoming donation to the Rochester Institute of Technology, where it will become the centerpiece of a new performing arts center in 2026.
Sean Jackman (DMA ’02, organ; MM ’05, organ, music education) is the teacher-leader of the Arts Academy @P-CEP in Plymouth-Canton Community Schools in Plymouth, Michigan. The Arts Academy is a smaller learning community of musicians and artists of all kinds who thrive on an arts-enriched curriculum at the high school level.
Todd Gresick (BM ’77, MM ’79, organ) accompanied the choir of Christ Episcopal Church of Winnetka, Illinois, on their residency tour at Canterbury Cathedral (UK), August 2023. Gresick has served as organ associate at Christ Church since February 2023, following his retirement in 2020 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church (now Divine Mercy Parish) in Winnetka.
Linda Dzuris (BM ’92, MM ’93, DMA ’98, organ), University Carillonneur and chair of the Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University, was elected president of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in June 2023. In August 2023, she attended the World Carillon Federation Congress in Utrecht, Netherlands, as an appointed North American delegate.
Tong Soon Kwak (DMA ’81, organ) started the YouTube channel “Musician K,” which hosts videos of her organ and church music concerts. (9/2023)
James Warren (BA ’74, music literature, organ) is an active church organist and recitalist. He has recorded three commercial CDs for Regent Records (UK) and has played recitals at Notre Dame de Paris, Madelleine (Paris), and St. Paul’s (London). He is also active in software implementation.
Peter DuBois (MM ’80, organ) retired as director of music/organist at Third Presbyterian Church, Rochester, New York, after 32 years there and 42 years of full-time music ministry. He will continue to host his syndicated radio program, With Heart and Voice, a program of sacred choral and organ music heard on over 100 public radio stations nationwide.
Gregory Hamilton (DMA ’02, sacred music/organ) continues his tenure at the historic St. Joseph Church in Macon, Georgia. He continues to compose and fulfill commissions, with over 100 works currently in print. Recent performances include solo appearances playing organ, harpsichord, and lute/ theorbo at festivals and with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra and the Amethyst Baroque Ensemble. (9/2023)
