So you’ve decided to come to Michigan? Go Blue! Orientation is required for all new first-year and transfer, degree-seeking students. Due to the impact of COVID-19, new undergraduate students enrolling in summer and fall terms will complete orientation remotely.
We realize that an online orientation program is much different than an in-person experience. Nevertheless, we are committed to providing the best online orientation experience possible. You will have an opportunity to learn about campus, meet with an academic advisor, get to know your future peers and register for your first semester of classes. We’re sure you have a question or two (or twenty) about coming to U-M, and we are ready to help.
After you have been admitted to U-M and paid the $300 EDR, you will receive an email in mid-May to register for your 1-Day Synchronous Orientation Experience in Wolverine Access. You will also receive instructions on how to complete the online orientation modules and placement tests prior to registering for classes.
More information can be found through the Office of New Student Programs. If you have any questions, please reach out to our SMTD Undergraduate Orientation Coordinator, Haley Pepper (email@example.com).
Transfer students in music and musical theatre will need to take the Graduate Theory Placement Exam, which will be administered online via a Canvas course. You will receive an email invitation to join the Canvas course, where you will then be able to view the timeline and instructions for completion of the exam.
