Tom Booth received BM Degree in Trumpet Performance in 1974 from Baldwin-Wallace University where he studied with James Darling and Mary Squire. He received an MM from the University of Illinois in 1975 where he studied with David Hickman and Ritchie Clendenon. He was a member of the San Antonio Symphony from 1975 – 1977 and the Dallas Symphony from 1977 – 2018. He has taught at the University of Illinois, Illinois Wesleyan University, University of Texas at San Antonio, Southern Methodist University, University of Colorado and the University of Michigan. His tenure at Southern Methodist was from 1978 – 2018 where he also served as Head of Winds, Brass and Percussion. Many of Mr. Booth’s former students are members of major symphony orchestras such as Cleveland, Milwaukee, Houston, Ft. Worth, Indianapolis, Utah and others, as well as several premier service bands in Washington D.C. He currently resides in Roxborough Park, Colorado with his wife Linda, also a musician and professional accompanist.
