Joshua Bolton

Auditions Coordinator


Joshua Bolton is the Auditions Coordinator and Recruiter for the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. He liaises with faculty and members of the Admissions department to organize and oversee all aspects of the school’s audition day events in music, musical theatre, and dance, while providing general assistance to the Admissions department as needed. He is also the lead organizer for Campus Day programming for admitted undergraduate students.

Bolton graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Music in 2016, specializing in percussion. During his undergraduate studies, he performed in various ensembles, such as the CMU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

Prior to joining SMTD, Bolton worked at Expressions Music Academy in Novi, Michigan, where he began as an Administrative Assistant handling client scheduling, billing, and sales. He later served as Director of Customer Care, playing an important role in providing excellent customer service to clients and mentorship to his peers. 

Bolton’s hobbies include playing music (guitar, piano, and drums), spending time with family and friends, hiking, playing video & board games, and watching Mystery Science Theater 3000.

He is incredibly excited to draw on his musical and administrative backgrounds for his work at SMTD.
