Bio

James O. Froseth is a leader in the study of teacher education, particularly in curriculum experimentation, and a specialist in quantitative research. His most recent efforts have been directed to the development of diagnostic tests and audio-visual computer assisted instructional programs designed to improve teacher training. He is the author of Individualized Instructor and the Comprehensive Music Instructor, two series of innovative texts for beginning instrumental music classes. Several years of study and collaboration with leading performers and educators in the United States preceded publication of the series Introducing the Instruments, which features the use of photographs, sound recordings, and skills checklists for parent and teacher. He is the author of MLR Visual Diagnosis Skills Program and co-author of the MLR Instrumental Score Reading Program and Studies in Creative Musicianship.
