Glenn Bering

Accompanist, Dance

Glenn began playing the bass at 13 and eventually earned degrees in classical double bass from Eastern Michigan University and a Masters Degree from the University of Michigan in Music Composition.

While at UM he performed in the Javanese and Japanese music ensembles, and outside the university he sought out and performed as a bassist and percussionist with musicians from a variety of cultures, including Arabic, Irish, Russian and North Indian.

Additional musical endeavors included community orchestras as a double bassist, as well as performing in groups specializing in swing, jazz, bluegrass and flamenco.

Glenn has provided accompaniment for the UM Department of Dance since 1995 as well as professional photography for dance performances.
