GingerAnn Neslund

GingerAnn Neslund


GingerAnn Neslund has been dancing since she was five years old. She grew up in northern Michigan and attributes her early training to Scott Heinrich and Giuseppe Canale of the Northeast Academy of Dance in Oscoda, MI. Her genres of expertise are modern and ballet, though she has basic training in tap, jazz, and pointe work. Ginger has also dabbled in styles such as Irish dance, Javanese, and Bollywood. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2012. There, she trained with Amy Chavasse, Amy West, Bill DeYoung, Jessica Fogel, Judy Rice, Melissa Beck, Peter Sparling, Robin Wilson, and Sandra Torijano-DeYoung among others. She has also had the pleasure of performing in works by Amy Chavasse, Jessica Fogel, Melissa Beck, Robin Wilson, Adesola Akinleye, Sidra Bell, Lindsey and Jason Dietz-Marchant, and Sean Hoskins.  Ginger earned her clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan, Flint in 2015. She is currently working as a physical therapist, treating patients in their homes, and established Divergent Physical Therapy & Wellness, LLC in 2019. Ginger joined the 2021 cohort pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching Artistry for Dance at Wayne State University as a way to merge her loves of dance, teaching, and wellness. She approaches her dance technique classes with mindfulness toward injury prevention, proper biomechanics, and self-healing techniques to keep dancers doing what they love.
