Adult Learning

General Information

The office of Youth & Adult Community Programs provides a variety of programs for adults. These programs are organized into two different categories: Lifelong Learning and Professional Development.

Lifelong Learning classes are typically provided during the academic year, once a week, for a series of weeks. There are no audition requirements for Continuing Education classes. These classes are generally not offered for credit, but are intended to provide high quality enrichment opportunities for adults interested in enhancing their artistic skills.

Professional Development workshops tend to take place during the summer, and range from 3- to 7-day intensives. These workshops sometimes require an audition for admittance, and are specifically designed for adults focused on promoting their skills in a focused career area. All Professional Development workshops may be taken as a workshop for professional development enrichment without college credit, or for graduate credit (NCFD).
