Robert Grijalva is the director of piano technology. He has served as a Steinway Concert and Artist Division technician in the San Francisco and Detroit areas, having received training first at Oberlin, then at both the New York and Hamburg Steinway factories. Professor Grijalva also holds certification from Yamaha's respected technical center in California and has served as a Bösendorfer Concert Division technician in the San Francisco Bay area. A craftsman in the Piano Technician's Guild, he has taught classes for technicians and lectured to piano teachers' organizations locally and abroad. He has been a featured lecturer at the Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, and Pianohaus Oberlinger in Oberling, Germany.
