Kathryn Goodson, international pianist, teacher, and coach, has performed recitals with vocalists and instrumentalists throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan. A coach and collaborative pianist for the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance since 2005, she is a frequent ensemble and chamber music guest for both the Detroit and Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestras. Albany, Innova, and Equilibrium recording labels have documented her playing with bass trombonist Randall Hawes, saxophonist Timothy McAllister, and soprano Caroline Helton, respectively. Goodson curated, played for and produced Belle Nuit, a critically acclaimed 2-CD set of lyrical, romantic French music for winds and piano with Hawes, McAllister, saxophonist Donald Sinta, and hornist Gail Williams, released by Navona Records in 2014.

A passionate cultural ambassador, Goodson's endeavors include an annual master class week in American & African-American Art Song at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, Germany; a Songs4Winds class offered to schools across the country; and Charles Ives Festivals in Stuttgart, Ann Arbor, Detroit, and New England. Additionally Goodson is co-founder and director of Concerts4aCause, a multi-church benefit series, and 2015 recipient of an Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Presidential Award for leadership in the KinderConcert series.

A Fulbright Scholar twice and fluent in German, Goodson received the Konzertexam in Liedgestaltung with highest honors from the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe under Hartmut Höll and Mitsuko Shirai, her DMA and MM in collaborative piano from U-M under Martin Katz, and her BM in piano performance from Oberlin Conservatory under Robert Shannon.
