Master of Music in Performance

Available in violin, viola, cello, double bass

Prerequisites for Admission

A bachelor's degree in performance or its equivalent; substantial solo and ensemble repertoire.

Curriculum

  • Ten to fifteen hours of private performance instruction in the student's major instrument
  • Eight hours of non-performance music courses
  • Two terms or half-terms of participation in University Orchestras
  • Two terms of participation in string quartets (for violinists, violists, and cellists) or orchestral repertory classes (for double bassists)
  • Electives to complete a total of thirty hours
  • Presentation of a recital
