Master of Music in Sacred Music

Curriculum

  • Four courses selected from Sacred Music 583, 584, 585, 586, 588, 590, 591 and 592
  • Eight hours of private performance instruction in organ
  • Four hours of organ literature
  • Choral Conducting 442 (students must have prerequisite of one term of Conducting at an undergraduate institution, or completion of Conducting 315)
  • Early Music 550 (basso continuo I) or 551 (basso continuo II)
  • One term of musicology, music theory or composition beyond the undergraduate requirements
  • Electives to complete a minimum of thirty-two hours
  • Final project: recital
