After spending their summers working for top performing arts organizations, four undergraduates help promote their host organization's performances in Ann Arbor.
SMTD has partnered with the Gershwin family to bring the music of George and Ira Gershwin to students, scholars, performers and audiences across campus and worldwide.
Congratulations and bravo to musical theatre alums Benj Pasek and Justin Paul ('06) on their Academy Award win for "Best Original Song" for "City of Stars" from La La Land. They wrote the lyrics for "City of Stars," with music by Justin Hurwitz.
This is the first Academy Award win for Pasek and Paul. They were also nominated in the same category for "Audition (The Fools Who Dream)." This past January, the pair also took home the Golden Globe for "Best Original Song."
