Master of Music in Chamber Music (Winds & Percussion)

Available for bassoon, clarinet, euphonium, flute, horn, oboe, percussion, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and tuba.

Prerequisites for Admission

A bachelor's degree in performance or its equivalent.

Curriculum

  • Four hours of brass, percussion, or woodwind ensemble
  • Four hours of Jazz Ensemble, Wind Chamber Music, Contemporary Directions Ensemble, or participation in piano accompanying courses
  • Private performance instruction in the student's major instrument each term to total eight hours
  • Four hours of University Bands or University Orchestras
  • Eight hours of non-performance music courses
  • Electives to complete a total of thirty-one hours
  • Presentation of a recital to include two major chamber works and one concerted sonata for the major instrument and piano
