Teaching Woodwinds and Brass in the Ensemble Setting

This workshop is geared towards instrumental music teachers but others are welcome. Instruction and group sharing will focus on instrument pedagogy for woodwind and brass instruments. Participants should bring their primary instrument and other instruments will be provided. Topics covered include: equipment, posture/hand position/set-up, breathing, articulation, tone, materials for instruction, woodwind and brass chamber music, use of these instruments in the ensemble. Friday class will include a short chamber recital performed on secondary instruments.
